The Philly-area boasts a number of amazing apple orchards and<\/em> pumpkin patches so you never have to choose between the two. We\u2019ve already rounded up the best apple-picking spots in the area<\/a>, and now we\u2019re giving you a list of local farms to visit for gourds, squash, and of course, pumpkins. Take advantage of this season\u2019s harvest by donning your coziest fall sweater and a pair of boots for an afternoon spent pumpkin-picking within one hour of Philly.<\/p>

Arasapha Farms<\/a><\/h3>

When:<\/span> Saturdays and Sundays only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Drive from Philly:<\/span> 50 minutes (1835 Middletown Road, Glen Mills<\/em>)<\/p>

This weekends-only farm in Glen Mills runs harvest hayrides out to their four-acre pumpkin garden for you to pick your own. They\u2019ve also got a corn maze (additional $5), mini golf, and pedal cars, so the fun never stops. It costs nothing for adults to visit, but a ticket for anyone 12 and under costs $20.<\/p>

Duffield\u2019s Farm Market<\/a><\/h3>

When:<\/span> Pumpkin picking hayrides run noon to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Saturdays

The only way to pick your own pumpkins at Froelich\u2019s is to\u00a0purchase a ticket<\/a>\u00a0to their Fall Festival. The $15 general admission will get you access to the grounds and pumpkin patch, but if you want to enjoy features like the hay maze and tractors, opt for the $25 activity pass. Pumpkins are sold by the pound.<\/p>\n

Hellerick\u2019s Family Farm<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:<\/span>\u00a0Fall Fest is open 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily through November 8th, then weekends until November 27th.

Reservations are required<\/a>\u00a0to enjoy the fall festival at Hellerick\u2019s Family Farm. Highland Orchards<\/a><\/h3>\n

Through October 30th, Hill Creek Farms is hosting its annual you-pick season. The Mullica Hill spot has pumpkins and gourds, plus apples, veggies, and sunflowers up for grabs. Plus, it\u2019s running pumpkin festivals on October 8th, 9th, 22nd, and 23rd to truly get in you into the seasonal spirit. No reservations needed on Fridays, but buy a ticket<\/a> in advance if you\u2019re visiting on a Saturday or Sunday.<\/p>

Indian Acres Tree Farm<\/a><\/h3>

When:<\/span> Pumpkin-picking wagon rides happen noon to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through October 30th.

Don\u2019t let the name fool you \u2014 this farm offers more than just Christmas trees. You can enjoy a 20-minute wagon ride and pick pumpkins every day of the week, then stay for the barrel train rides and seasonal snacks. Everyone ages two and older will pay $6.50 to enter, plus the cost of picked pumpkins.<\/p>

Johnson\u2019s Corner Farm<\/a><\/h3>

Johnson\u2019s Locust Hall Farm offers two different ways for you to secure your pumpkins this season. Your first option is Park N\u2019 Pick, where you\u2019ll drive your car at your leisure to the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, sunflower photo trails, and corn maze ($12.95 per person;\u00a0reservation required<\/a>). Or, visit on a Saturday or Sunday through the end of the month for a Fall Harvest Festival, where you can PYO pumpkins of course, but also take a scenic hayride tour ($5 per person), enjoy live music, and partake in some fall-inspired fun. Picked pumpkins cost 89 cents per pound.<\/p>\n

Linvilla Orchards<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:<\/span>\u00a0Pumpkinland is open daily now through early November. Pumpkinland hours change based on fall weekends, so check the\u00a0website<\/a>\u00a0for the hours of the weekend you are visiting.

Linvilla is a mainstay fall hub in the Philly area. It\u2019s worth noting that pumpkins at Linvilla are pre-harvested, meaning you won\u2019t pick from a patch, just purchase from a pumpkin display. But we promise that they\u2019ve got quite the variety to choose from, and their\u00a0Pumpkinland<\/a>\u00a0has so many activities to enjoy all day long.<\/p>\n

Merrymead Farm<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:<\/span>\u00a0Fall harvest days occur on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

This 103-acre family farm in Chester Springs includes an eight-acre pumpkin patch that can yield as many as 25,000 pumpkins in a good year. Stroll to the pumpkin patch, wander through the corn maze, take family photos, and visit the farm animals. Bonus: There\u2019s a creamery on site, and yes, pumpkin flavored ice cream\u00a0is<\/em>\u00a0available. If you\u2019re visiting on the weekend, tickets must be\u00a0purchased in advance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Olszanowski Farm<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:<\/span>\u00a0Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 30th.
Drive from Philly:<\/span>\u00a01 hour (315 Pughtown Road, Spring City<\/em>)<\/p>\n

At this year-long functioning farm, you can take a hayride out to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch. All you\u2019ll need to pay for is $3 for the hayride and the price of your picked pumpkin, plus $8 for the corn maze if you want to add that to your experience. (Children ages five and under get in for free.) Bonus: Dogs are allowed at Olszanowski Farm \u2014 even on the hayride to the pumpkin patch! \u2014 so long as your furry friend is friendly and leashed at all times.<\/p>\n

Rustic Valley Orchard<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:\u00a0<\/span>Fridays noon to 9 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays (and Monday, October 10th) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

While visiting, you can pick your own pumpkins from the patch, enjoy a hayride, say hi to the farm animals, and more. The $10 entrance fee (for anyone ages three and older) includes all activities except for your pumpkin, flower, and concession purchases. You can buy in advance\u00a0online<\/a>\u00a0or purchase upon arrival.<\/p>\n

Solly Brother\u2019s Farm<\/a><\/h3>\n

When:<\/span>\u00a010 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of October.

Springdale Farms<\/a><\/h3>\n

A hayride will take you out to the patch, where you can snag your perfect pumpkins to take back home. Admission is $6 per person (kids two and under are free), with pumpkins costing 89 cents per pound.<\/p>\n

Styer Orchard<\/a><\/h3>\n

In addition to being an apple orchard, Styer has a pumpkin patch filled with pumpkins and gourds of all colors, varieties, and sizes. There\u2019s no entry fee for the Langhorne-based farm, nor is there a fee for the hayride that brings you out to the patch and orchard, but picked pumpkins will cost you between 50 and 60 cents per pound.<\/p>\n

Terhune Orchards<\/a><\/h3>\n
